Target Audience masthead designs

My mum said that the masthead with the triangles above and below the letters looked the best and most exciting as she thought it looked unique and it stood out more than all the others. She said this would be the best masthead to go for.

My sister said she thought the masthead with the oval and with the name 'Loaded' in the middle of the oval looked the best as she thought the colours worked well and that it would appeal to her if she was going to buy a magazine.

My Dad said the masthead with the big L and then the rest of the word 'oaded' in small letters looked the best as he hasn't seen a masthead like that before on a magazine and so it looked different which would appeal to him.

Taylor said the masthead with the big L and then the rest of the word 'oaded' looked the best as well as he thought the colours used looked the best and that other magazines don't have a masthead like this and so people would be more interested to read the magazine.

Gemma said that the masthead with the big triangles looked the best as it looks different to all the other mastheads  I created and that the colours used were really vibrant and that it would stand out making it very unique as no other magazine masthead is like this.

Front Cover ideas for school magazine

These are my designs for the Front cover. The mastheads are at the top of the page as this will stand out and it will be the first thing people will look at so it needs to look exciting. I have also included a pug on all my designs which draws the reader in so people will want to read the magazine. They all have banners on the bottom as I feel it makes the magazine look more professional.

Masthead research and analysis

This is the masthead for NME. As you can see the logo stands out with the use of contrasting colours read, white and black. The text is bold  in upper case in a sans-serif font making it look informal. The white stroke makes the red fill stand out more behind the black stroke. This makes it stand out more. There is also a drop shadow effect. NME is the name of the magazine New Musical Express
This is the masthead of the magazine kerrang. As you can see the text is in upper case in sans-serif format making it look informal. It also have white lines going through the words making the text stand out instead of being plain and boring. The exclamation mark also makes the masthead of the magazine seem important.

This is the masthead for the magazine rolling stones. As you can see the text is in three dimensions with red fill and a white stroke with a drop shadow. The font is in a sans-serif format which makes the text look informal. The way the letter L is portrayed as looking like the number one which makes it look informal.

This is the masthead for the music magazine VIBE. As you can see the text is very bold with a black fill. The letter V is too the side so you could think that the text is in a sans-serif format however the other letters look more formal and in a serif format. The masthead for this magazine is mainly plain.

This is the masthead for the magazine Billboard. As you can see the way the text is portrayed is in a formal way which means it has the serif format. The first four letters of the masthead have no fill and just a black stroke however this changes with the letters b,o,a and d have different colour fills including the colours red, blue and yellow. Only the first letter is in upper case where as the other letters are in lower case.
