target audience for music magazine
My target audience will be focused on lots of things which I feel most people will read Loaded.
The age range I am aiming it at is teenagers but that doesn't stop older and younger people enjoying my magazine as my magazine will mainly be focused on grime and pop but may also include genres. The most popular charts at the moment will most likely appeal to 13-30 year old. However people of the older generation may be interested in the current popular music so they may be interested in buying the magazine. I would expect there would be a higher percentage of males than females who will be more interested in my magazine as it will include a lot of grime music and males seem to be more interested in grime than females. Occupation would not matter as I will make sure the cost of the magazine will be affordable for everyone. This means that everybody will be able to enjoy it. The interests of the audience surely must be that they enjoy listening and reading about music and music artists.

Music Magazine drake 1
This is my first mock up. As you can see I have used Drake for the front cover. I have used different fonts and depending on how important the text is on the front cover, that determines how big the text is. I have also used things such as a pug which will lure people in.

Brand Identity and Ideology of my magazine
My Magazine is going to be called Loaded. It is a young and modern magazine which will cover many genres in the music industry. The front cover of Loaded will look fun and exciting with using vibrant colours to attract their target market which will be teenagers. This means that the magazine will be appealing to teenagers and the artists on the front cover will be people who teenagers listen too. The main image will be the part of the magazine which will attract customers as people will see who is on the front cover and then will want to read the magazine and buy it. They will use three or four colour tones which will be vibrant and appealing to people. It will have interesting cover lines which will have well known artists and it says it will cover stories about different artists. My magazine will value the music industry as it will focus on all different genres which means it will have something which everyone will be interested to read.

Music Magazine photo plans
Look of the person: The person needs to be looking happy and cheerful, as they are going to be a young artist, and showing confidence that will interest a reader..I want the model to be Taylor and want him to replicate a pose i saw on the VIBE magazine front cover. The background can be simple and plain colours or I might go for some vibrant colours to make the magazine more interesting as it will make the, main image stand out, due to the masthead colour. The background could be blue with the masthead colour changed red, yellow and white. These are the colours that will be used throughout the magazine.

Brand identity and ideology of vibe magazine
Vibe is a music entertainment magazine which mainly features hip-hop and R&B music artists. The magazine is issued every month with double page covers. It has a large audience which is predominantly online. The target audience of the magazine is mainly youths who are interested in hip-hop and R&B. On their front cover they promote already well known artists as people are fans of them already. They keep the colours on the front cover fairly the same as they use around 3 colour tones on the magazine. They use cover lines to interest the reader which has information about other artists. They value their audience as they produce magazines which people will be interested in reading as their favourite artist is on the front cover. The main image is predominantly males as in these magazine front covers, only three of the front covers have women and all the other front covers have males. They value the music industry as they produce magazines about music mainly focused on two genres but if they do this then shows hey value and enjoy the music industry.

Rule of thirds
Rule of thirds
The Rule of thirds is when you use vertical and horizontal lines to line up an image correctly so it looks professional and neat. The image is split up into 9 boxes which shows how a subject is placed in an image. It can be used both portrait and landscape. A humans eye has been proved that it won't automatically look in the centre so that means that the main part of an image doesn't always have to be in the centre instead it an just be in the eye line of the photo. This will create a image which will look appealing to people.
An example of this is this image.
As you can see, the lines make the image look even and so photographers can use these lines to improve images. It shows the different subjects in the image and in this image, the person is on the line and so people will look at the person in eye line.

school magazine cover
This is my mock up front cover for my school magazine 'The Brook'. I have made the masthead big and exciting as it will draw more people in to reading the magazine. I also included a banner at the bottom which is easy for people to read and people will be interested on how to revise properly. I made the headline very big as well as it is the most important section of the magazine. The pug I used will also draw more people in as the prize is an expensive prize and many people will want to get there hands on a Macbook Pro. I included the plantsbrook logo to make the magazine look more professional. I added another headline about ofsted as adults and parents will be interested to see how the school is getting on.

Target Audience masthead designs
My mum said that the masthead with the triangles above and below the letters looked the best and most exciting as she thought it looked unique and it stood out more than all the others. She said this would be the best masthead to go for.
My sister said she thought the masthead with the oval and with the name 'Loaded' in the middle of the oval looked the best as she thought the colours worked well and that it would appeal to her if she was going to buy a magazine.
My Dad said the masthead with the big L and then the rest of the word 'oaded' in small letters looked the best as he hasn't seen a masthead like that before on a magazine and so it looked different which would appeal to him.
Taylor said the masthead with the big L and then the rest of the word 'oaded' looked the best as well as he thought the colours used looked the best and that other magazines don't have a masthead like this and so people would be more interested to read the magazine.
Gemma said that the masthead with the big triangles looked the best as it looks different to all the other mastheads I created and that the colours used were really vibrant and that it would stand out making it very unique as no other magazine masthead is like this.

Front Cover ideas for school magazine
These are my designs for the Front cover. The mastheads are at the top of the page as this will stand out and it will be the first thing people will look at so it needs to look exciting. I have also included a pug on all my designs which draws the reader in so people will want to read the magazine. They all have banners on the bottom as I feel it makes the magazine look more professional.

Masthead research and analysis
This is the masthead for NME. As you can see the logo stands out with the use of contrasting colours read, white and black. The text is bold in upper case in a sans-serif font making it look informal. The white stroke makes the red fill stand out more behind the black stroke. This makes it stand out more. There is also a drop shadow effect. NME is the name of the magazine New Musical Express
This is the masthead of the magazine kerrang. As you can see the text is in upper case in sans-serif format making it look informal. It also have white lines going through the words making the text stand out instead of being plain and boring. The exclamation mark also makes the masthead of the magazine seem important.
This is the masthead for the magazine rolling stones. As you can see the text is in three dimensions with red fill and a white stroke with a drop shadow. The font is in a sans-serif format which makes the text look informal. The way the letter L is portrayed as looking like the number one which makes it look informal.
This is the masthead for the music magazine VIBE. As you can see the text is very bold with a black fill. The letter V is too the side so you could think that the text is in a sans-serif format however the other letters look more formal and in a serif format. The masthead for this magazine is mainly plain.
This is the masthead for the magazine Billboard. As you can see the way the text is portrayed is in a formal way which means it has the serif format. The first four letters of the masthead have no fill and just a black stroke however this changes with the letters b,o,a and d have different colour fills including the colours red, blue and yellow. Only the first letter is in upper case where as the other letters are in lower case.
